Exchange Programs for Youth

For those with a sense of adventure and the desire to experience another culture first hand, studying abroad or hosting an international student can be a rewarding experience. With so many opportunities out there, it is important to do your homework in order to find an organization and a program that are right for you. This list of organizations that offer student exchanges and study abroad programs is a good place to start.


AFS Intercultural Programs

AFS is a leader in Intercultural learning and offers international exchange programs for students and young adults in more than 50 countries around the world. AFS has been involved in international exchange since 1919.


ASSE International High School Exchange Programs

ASSE is a private, non-profit, cultural exchange organization maintaining 38 offices in 31 countries and accommodating more than 30,000 host families and high school age students annually. One of the oldest and largest international student exchange organizations, ASSE strives to offer the most comprehensive programs with the lowest possible fees.


Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI)

CCI is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural understanding, academic development and world peace. CCI coordinates programs for thousands of foreign exchange students annually in the United States and abroad.


Cultural Homestay International

Cultural Homestay International is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 to promote international understanding, friendship, and goodwill through cultural homestays.


STS Foundation
http://www.stsfoundation.org/

STS Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that believes intercultural student exchange promotes understanding, respect and goodwill among people of all nations. Students, host families, schools and communities will have an opportunity to learn more about one another's cultures as they share the experience.


World Heritage Student Exchange Programs

World Heritage High School Student Exchange Program is one of the most respected international organizations dedicated to education through student exchange.


Youth For Understanding International Exchange
http://www.yfu.org/

Youth For Understanding (YFU) is a non-profit educational organization which offers opportunities for young people around the world to spend a summer, semester or year with a host family in another culture.
