Barbara Bush dramatically changed how young leaders get involved in global health when she co-founded Global Health Corps (GHC) in 2009. Bush joins WGHA in Seattle’s South Lake Union for a special one-night event, where she opens up about GHC’s start, the trends shaping health equity and lessons she’s learned in the process of pursuing a meaningful career.
As Global Health Corps CEO, Bush and her global team have placed nearly 850 fellows on the front lines of health equity in Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, Zambia, and the United States. Global Health Corps fellows and alumni can be found in many Washington State global health organizations.
