Since its inception, NAFTA has been a controversial and ambitious project for the North American continent and now covers over a trillion dollars in trade a year. The United States has recently opened talks with Mexico and Canada to renegotiate the terms and regulations in NAFTA, seeking updates to the 23-year-old agreement, as well as looking for ways to rebalance trade in favor of protecting American products and workers. Join the World Affairs Council for a luncheon with Canadian Consul General Brandon A. Lee and Mexican Consul General Roberto Dondisch where they will engage in a moderated conversation on how NAFTA renegotiations are viewed by the United States’ closest allies and neighbors.
