On May 26th, 2015 the World Affairs Council celebrated the tremendous work of local students and an outstanding educator. Brandon Frederick of Bonney Lake High School was honored as our 2014-15 World Educator and nine students in grades 3-12 were saluted for their award-winning essays on this year's "if you were a foreign correspondent" prompt. 2012 World Citizen & World Educator Awards

Since 1988, the World Affairs Council has annually recognized outstanding leaders from Washington State who have contributed significantly to public understanding of international relations and have promoted community involvement in world affairs. The recipients are chosen by community nominations and from a field of civic leaders and educators. This year’s recipients are Governor Christine Gregoire and Hands for a Bridge.
