“European Energy Security and Vulnerability” – WAC 4/25/2016 Event
On April 25, the World Affairs Council, in partnership with the American Council on Germany, hosted a discussion focused on European energy security and vulnerability. The European Union imports over half of all the energy it consumes, and there are policy concerns over this dependency on energy. There is reason for optimism though, as the EU is responding to the energy goals formed during COP21 in Paris, increasing domestic energy production and supplier diversity, and improving infrastructure as part of a long-term energy security strategy.
