Student Diplomacy Simulation

Are you a college student or rising high school junior or senior interested in learning how U.S. foreign policy and diplomatic negotiations work? Are you thinking about pursuing an international career after graduation?
Join the Diplomacy Simulation on Wednesday, July 15.
Led by facilitators from the Global Ties Network, this National Museum of American Diplomacy interactive simulation will take students through role-playing scenarios as they take on the role of key stakeholders to a hypothetical crisis and the factors that led to it. The exercise will develop skills in critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, persuasive communication, and global competence.
The theme of July’s Diplomacy Simulation is: Refugees & Migration
Space is limited to 25 participants per simulation timeslot! Registration will automatically close once capacity is reached.
Time
Students are encouraged to sign up for the simulation time slot that best fits their schedule. The schedule is listed below. Materials to read in advance of the simulation will be sent to students via email.
The time slots for the simulations are as follows:
7:00 AM - 9:30 AM PST— Facilitators: Sarah Sibley & Josh Bruno of World Boston
10:00 AM - 12:30 PM PST— Facilitators: Courtney Brooks & Sarah Martin of Global Ties KC
1:00 PM - 3:30 PM PST— Facilitators: Matt Britton of WorldDenver & Gary Crofts of Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy
4:00 PM - 6:30 PM PST— Facilitators: Cortney Hurlock of Global Ties San Francisco & Kim Todd of Northern California World Trade Center
Who can attend?
These sessions are open to college students and rising high school juniors and seniors across the country and registration is free. Spaces are limited and reserved on a first-come first-serve basis.
