November 27th, 2020 9:30AM -10:30AM
Curious about a career in the Foreign Service or have an interest in humanitarian causes? YPIN
cordially invites you to an event with Mark Ward, a committed humanitarian who saved lives and
restored hope to communities affected by many disasters over two decades, including the 2004
Tsunami and the civil war in Syria.
Nicknamed “Mr. Disaster” by President George H. W. Bush after their Tsunami work in 2005,
Mr. Ward retired as a Career Minister in the Foreign Service of the United States. He’s currently
serving as the Country Director for the International Medical Corps in Afghanistan, where he
leads a team of Afghan professionals helping communities cope with poverty, natural disasters,
and one of the longest conflicts in history.
Join us on Friday, November 27th at 9:30 am to learn from an influential figure in foreign
disaster assistance and humanitarian aid. This is a free, virtual program open to the public. The
link and instructions on how to join will be sent to registrants in advance of the event. Please be
