Global Classroom Book Club: Exit West

Global Classroom Book club

Participants will read Exit West by Mohsin Hamid, a novel describing a young couple's flight from their war-torn home. After reading participants will complete a brief assignment based on the text, as well as attend a follow-up session in early May to discuss the themes of the book and how to incorporate them into a classroom setting. Early registrants will receive the book for free and have a chance to attend a discussion with the author at the Seward Park Third Place Books!

Global Classroom: Taiwan in the Balance

Although Taiwan is a small island of 23 million people today, its history is rich with themes that illuminate and contribute to our understanding of major historical issues. Come explore Taiwan’s past, present and future with James Lin, Assistant Professor at the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, Tobias Osterhaug, Program Coordinator for Global Classroom, and Yurika Kurakata of the East Asia Resource Center.
