Volunteers help support World Affairs Council events through a variety of opportunities including ushering, event registration, and assisting with receptions. Events range from large lectures with noted world speakers to smaller trivia events. Volunteers can expect to meet other globally conscious individuals, strengthen their network of contacts, and be involved in thoughtful conversation about world issues. Events are usually between two and three hours in length.
For a list of upcoming events, please see the calendar.
If you are interested in actively supporting the World Affairs Council by volunteering at a community event, please contact Nathan Sharpe.
International Visitor Program
Seattleites who wish to get more involved in the global community are always welcome to participate in the International Visitor Program. Volunteers play an important role in welcoming foreign dignitaries and rising leaders to the United States and showing them hospitality. There are three ways people can volunteer with IVP, as a:
- Dinner Host
- Overnight/Homestay Host
