Inspired Youth Make a Difference

As part of the Global Youth Leadership Initiative (GYLI) high school students spent a week in June 2012 learning about global affairs and gaining a global perspective on world issues. They heard from expert speakers, participated in workshops with visiting youth from different countries, and began planning Global Awareness Projects (GAPs) to implement in their schools during the upcoming year. Fast-forward to March 2013 and these 11 groups of students from nine Seattle area high schools are in the process of planning or have completed a GAP that raises awareness about a global issue of great importance to them.
