Ashini Jagtiani-Williams
I’m Ashini Jagtiani Williams, Assistant Director at the India Center at Seattle University, where I help shape programming and partnerships that bring together scholars, students, diplomats, and community leaders to explore the future of U.S.–India relations. To that end I work at the intersection of international relations, public engagement, and education.
Previously, I was a political advisor at the Consulate General of India in Seattle, where I supported the newly established mission by providing strategic insight into the American political landscape—particularly in its 9 jurisdictional states such as Oregon, Idaho, Washington. Earlier in my career, I focused on tech policy through roles in both the think tank and private sectors—first at the Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi, and later at ShareChat, where I worked on bridging policy priorities with platform strategy in India’s fast-evolving digital ecosystem. I also worked as an academic associate at the Indian Institute of Management, where I supported MBA students by evaluating their coursework and guiding them as they developed their business and communications projects.
I hold three master’s degrees: an MA in International Relations and Political Science from PDEU India, an MSc in Strategic Studies (with a focus on terrorism studies) from NTU Singapore, and an MBA from Pacific Lutheran University.
Having lived in France, Singapore, India, and now the U.S., I consider myself a global citizen happiest when connecting people and ideas across borders.
