About Our Speaker
Akhror Burkhanov was appointed as the first Consul General of Uzbekistan in the State of Washington in March 2026. Burkhanov previously worked at the Uzbekistan Embassy in the U.S., overseeing media, public diplomacy, tourism, education, healthcare, and bilateral relations with Brazil. In 2023, he was appointed press secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and advisor to the minister on information policy.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the International Westminster University in Tashkent and a master’s in development policy from the School of Public Policy and Management at the Korea Development Institute. The new consulate is expected to become a hub of Uzbekistan’s diplomatic, cultural, and economic activity in the region.
