Maggie Lear

Maggie joined the World Affairs Council in September 2026, bringing experience in strategic communications, community engagement, and international development. She holds a Bachelor's in Sociology from California State University Long Beach and a Master's in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Maggie's interest in global affairs stems from her youth—growing up in central Seattle among a culturally and linguistically diverse community exposed her to the value of global citizenship and has continued to shape her career to this day. In past roles, Maggie has worked with other nonprofits including Global Washington and the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network. With a drive to increase global engagement and access to opportunity, she is committed to engaging in community-centered work that creates measurable social impact.
