2027 WCEC Resource Guide
The 2027 World Citizen Engagement Contest (WCEC) Resource Guide is designed to help students, educators, and parents navigate the contest, explore global issues, and develop meaningful submissions. Whether you’re writing an essay, creating a photo essay or video essay, or producing a podcast, this guide offers helpful tips, tools, and resources to support you throughout the process.
Inside, you’ll find guidance on choosing a topic, conducting research, exploring different perspectives, connecting local experiences to global issues, citing sources, and using technology and AI responsibly. You’ll also find resources to help turn curiosity into action and communicate your ideas through the format that best fits your voice and creativity.
The goal is to support the process, not prescribe the outcome. Students are encouraged to follow their curiosity, ask thoughtful questions, consider diverse perspectives, and explore how they can make a difference in their communities and beyond.
Educators can use this guide to introduce the contest, support student learning, and encourage thoughtful, creative engagement with our interconnected world.
