Fulbright Talks: Stories by Fulbrighters
March 28th, 2019 5:30PM -7:00PM
Join the World Affairs Council and the Western Washington Chapter of the Fulbright Association for an evening program featuring short stories and presentations given by members of our local Fulbright community: students and scholars from around the world who are currently in the Greater Puget Sound region, as well as U.S. alumni of the Fulbright Program. Talks will highlight the diversity of projects that "Fulbrighters" engage in, as well as the short- and long-term impacts of the program on individuals and communities around the world. This is our third year to be partnering to offer this exciting event!
About the Fulbright Program
“Educational exchange can turn nations into people, contributing as no other form of communication can to the humanizing of international relations.”
– J. William Fulbright, 1983
The Fulbright Program, which recently celebrated its 70th anniversary, is the U.S. government’s flagship exchange program designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Over 370,000 “Fulbrighters” have participated in educational and cultural exchange activities in the U.S. and 160+ countries around the world. Washington State is home to many program alumni and hosts over 100 visiting Fulbrighters each year.
