Global Classroom’s July Workshop Big World, Small Planet: Bringing Sustainability into Your Classroom
July 27th, 2017
Join the World Affairs Council and Western Washington University’s Facing the Future on July 27th for an educator’s workshop on bringing global sustainability into your classroom. Teachers will be given an overview of sustainability education and investigate frameworks for looking at the world, exploring values, and finding solutions to bring about a more sustainable world. In addition, this session will look at ways to build sustainability skills and habits, such as personal responsibility and interconnectedness, and provide tangible ways to connect sustainability to your classroom projects and curriculum. Please join us for a rich discussion that will build global competency and 21st century skills among your students.
The workshop will be led by Ann Hempelmann, author of Big World, Small Planet
Teachers will receive standards-aligned curricular resources and lesson ideas to bring the dynamic topic of sustainability into the classroom. This is an interdisciplinary workshop, and would be appropriate for teachers in the sciences, arts, and humanities.
Workshop ($30) includes 3 clock hours (with STEM components), classroom resources, and refreshments.
