GLX Programs: May 2023

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the World Affairs Council which is a member of Global Ties U.S.

Smart and Integrated Ports: Six Slovenian officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Slovenian Maritime Administration, and the Slovenian General Police Directorate, as well as Maritime search and rescue will travel to Seattle with the goal of discussing U.S. port management and operations, security and sovereignty issues, as well as climate and sustainability measures U.S. ports are taking as they develop and innovate new technologies and practices.

Open World - Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia: Through this Congressional program, six independent journalists from Serbia, Kosovo, and North Macedonia will visit Seattle to learn about proper investigative methods, neutrality in reporting, and effectively using open sources to provide fact-based articles through media outlets in all forms.Professional Fellows Program: Four Fellows from Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt will participate in a month-long professional exchange program called the Professional Fellows Program (PFP) sponsored by the State Department. This is a global exchange program designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, as well as build lasting, sustainable partnerships between leaders from North Africa and the United States.
