The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the World Affairs Council which is a member of Global Ties U.S.
Youth and Community Engagement: Ten heads of NGOs and organizations aimed at supporting youth from throughout the Indo-Pacific are coming to Seattle to discuss public-private partnerships for political and civic engagement, policy formulation and the players who influence the decision-making process, and the impact of local engagement in U.S. communities.
Global Public Health Challenges: Nine health professionals from throughout Africa are coming to Seattle to explore infectious disease prevention and treatment, community-based care, combating misinformation, and global health innovations.
Global Stability, Democratic Governance, and Legal Cooperation: Eleven government officials and research heads from various ASEAN countries, in their time in Seattle, will explore multilateral organizations contributing to international stability and economic growth, the basic principals of international law, and economic development.
Towards a More Safe and Secure World: Regional Collaboration to Combat Crime: Ten heads of security and prosecutors from throughout Europe will examine the American criminal justice system, the role of law enforcement and prosecutorial authorities, and methods for policy makers and law enforcement agencies to collaborate internationally in their time in Seattle.
Sustainable Cities: Fourteen municipal heads and urban planners from various different countries will come to Seattle to consider practices in sustainable and creative urban planning, the effect of natural and human-made disasters on cities, and collaboration among national and international specialists to strengthen the resilience of cities.
The Friends, Partners, Allies Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by CRDF Global in partnership with the World Affairs Council.
The Friends, Partners, Allies Program For Journalists: Ten journalists from Japan and the Philippines are coming to Seattle to bolster the understanding and appreciation for Filipino and Japanese diaspora communities in the U.S. by examining their role in building, strengthening, and expanding ties between the American, Filipino, and Japanese people, engage industry leaders and organizations in technology, infrastructure, trade, and other key sectors to help participants better understand the bilateral and trilateral ties that enhance and strengthen our industries and economies, and examine the security, political, diplomatic, and socio-economic relationships critical to the U.S.-Philippines bilateral relationship, the U.S.-Japan bilateral relationship, and the U.S.-Philippines-Japan partnership by introducing participants to key contacts in the U.S. government and research and policy institutions.
