Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Department of State's Office of International Visitors has postponed in-person exchange programs for the rest of 2020. Virtual meetings will instead be arranged for the following programs:
Memorializing History through Education and Museums: A team of Ukrainian museum experts and fundraising professionals will meet with their U.S. counterparts to garner support and ideas as they engage in the development of the Holodomor Victims Memorial. The Holodomor, which means death by hunger in Ukrainian, was a man-made famine in Soviet Ukraine in 1932 – 1933. It is also known as the Genocide of Ukraine where 3.3 – 7.5 million lives were lost.
