Brazil Youth Ambassadors Program: A group of 13 high school students from Brazil will visit Seattle for a youth leadership program. The program aims to develop a cadre of young adults throughout the Americas who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to their communities, an awareness of current and global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills. The program aims to foster relationships among youth from different ethnic, religious, and national groups; and to promote mutual understanding, respect, and collaboration between people in the United States and other countries of the Western Hemisphere.
Emerging Political and Economic Leaders in North America: 4 visitors from Canada will come to Seattle to connect and foster relationships with state and local representatives in the U.S. to discuss new and continuing efforts in collaboration and understanding in business, entrepreneurship, and trade. They will also examine the underlying societal, economic, and political factors that drive their U.S. counterparts’ initiatives and views.
Ending Gender-Based Violence: A group of 7 visitors from Latin America will visit Seattle to review best practices for preventing gender-based violence, as well as to discuss techniques to identify forms of gender-based abuse, report abuse, prosecute abusers, and provide assistance and protection to victims of gender-based violence.
