IVLP Programs: March 2020

The International Visitor Leadership Program was postponed by the U.S. Department of State Office of International Visitors through September due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The originally scheduled programs listed below will be rescheduled to a later date.
Beyond the Border: Utilizing Technology to Disrupt Terrorism & Transnational Crime: 6 visitors from Indonesia will visit Seattle to examine how U.S. borders are protected through the use of technology, personnel, intra‑ and inter‑agency information sharing, and infrastructure. They will also observe how stakeholders coordinate and share information acquired through variety of sources across the federal, state, and local government as well as with partner nations in an effort to protect against global criminal organizations and terrorism.
Combating International Crime: 8 visitors from Asia and Australia will visit Seattle to learn about the U.S. criminal justice system and the legal framework for combating a range of transnational crimes. Additionally, they will examine ways in which U.S. policy makers and law enforcement agencies can collaborate with international partners to counter transnational threats.
Education in the Digital Age: 7 visitors from around the world will come to Seattle to review current technological trends in education and assess how new technologies impact student learning. They will also examine partnerships between educational institutions and private businesses or philanthropic organizations.
