Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property Commercialization: This virtual project for Egypt will introduce U.S. best practices as a way to improve Egyptian efforts to transfer new technology from academia to industry and demonstrate the value of intellectual property to a 21st century economy and the importance of protecting inventions.
Human and Civil Rights Advocacy and Awareness: This virtual project will examine the historical context of human rights advocacy in the United States, the influence of human and civil rights activists on policy at the national, state, and local levels through lobbying, media, and grassroots campaigns, and the role and organizational structure of associations, NGOs, and religious organizations in advancing U.S. civil rights and equal opportunity.
Arctic Sustainable Tourism: This virtual project for participants from Arctic states will discuss current issues related to sustainable tourism and the successful engagement of indigenous populations. The project will also examine the relationships among businesses, federal and local government, NGOs, activists, and indigenous communities in balancing economic development with environmental concerns and the rights of indigenous populations.
Planning, Financing, and Delivering Transportation Infrastructure Projects: This virtual project for Indonesia will bring together decision makers from provincial, regency, and municipal planning agencies and public works and transportation offices to learn U.S. approaches and practices in delivering large multimodal infrastructure projects. The project aims to enhance the technical knowledge of local officials to develop projects attractive to foreign investors and to present U.S. challenges and achievements in delivering creatively and innovatively funded transportation projects.
