YPIN Global Cafe: Social Media and Global Relations

Global Cafe is a YPIN discussion series where participants get together to examine, analyze, and discuss solutions for some of the biggest global challenges of our day. In July, we will look at the role of social media in global relations. Today, we have more opportunities than ever before to share experiences, ideas, and opinions with others around the world. How does social media participation shape perceptions about diverse global communities? What can be done to combat the spread of misinformation about key global issues on social media platforms? How is social media transforming international relations? How do social media channels impact foreign policy and governance?

YPIN, non-YPIN members, and first-timers are all welcome. Before each event, some background materials on the topic will be added to the Facebook page. It’s helpful to read the articles before the discussion, but don’t worry if you haven’t. Part of the discussion is to help each other catch up on the facts.
