Alexandra Baker is an educator dedicated to empowering students to become informed, engaged citizens who can make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world. Throughout her career, she has created authentic learning experiences that help students understand the connection between local issues and global challenges.
Believing that people are most likely to protect what they know and value, Alexandra works to build students' understanding of the world through experiential learning, community partnerships, and civic engagement. For more than 15 years, she has collaborated with local organizations to bring learning beyond classroom walls and into real-world contexts.
Her commitment to civic education and student empowerment has earned recognition through the League of Women Voters' Making Democracy Work Award and selection as a Teacher of the Year finalist. Alexandra remains passionate about helping young people discover their ability to create positive change at both the local and global levels.
