Caitlin Kenney
Caitlin is originally from Denver, Colorado but relocated to Seattle in 2019 to pursue her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. She joined the World Affairs Council in Fall 2022 as an Intern with the Global Leadership Exchange program while she finished her fourth year at the UW, completing a B.A. in Political Science with a specialization in International Security and a minor in philosophy. Despite her academic and research interests pertaining to U.S. foreign policy, great power politics, and national security, much of Caitlin’s prior experience lies in domestic U.S. politics.
Before joining the World Affairs Council, Caitlin completed a research internship with Vote Smart where she gained non-profit experience while collecting and publishing data on candidates across the country running for elected seats from the local to national level. Previously, she worked as an intern for U.S. Senator Michael Bennet’s state office in Denver. Most recently, Caitlin oversaw a local Washington State campaign in the 46th L.D., and following the primary accepted a political affairs internship position with a Congressional campaign out of Colorado. In her free time she loves to read non-fiction, ski, and continue to explore Seattle!
