Chance Sims
Chance holds a bachelor’s degree from Willamette University, and two master’s degrees, one from DePaul University and another from the University of Washington. Chance is originally from the Pacific Northwest, but most recently he was the upper school assistant principal and director of global travel at the Trinity School in New York City. He built the Trinity School’s travel program from the ground up, and helped create partnerships with five schools while overseeing student trips to locations all over the globe. In his cover letter for his current position at the Northwest School, Chance shared: “I’m attracted to The Northwest School because it stands as a model for how independent schools can play a part in the rethinking of schooling in the United States and abroad. The contemporary moment requires that schools promote the development of new social imaginations with which we might create a different, more just, equitable, and sustainable world.”
