Cheryl Serindag
Cheryl Serindag joined the Council in 2022. She has a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Northeastern University as well as a master’s in International Security from Science Po’s Paris School of International Affairs focusing on diplomacy and Middle East studies. She serves as Community Programs and Communications Officer.
Cheryl was born and raised in the greater Seattle region, but always had a love of adventure and a desire to live and explore new places. This first led her to Turkey where she worked as an English teacher for young learners in Malatya, a city in the eastern part of the country. This experience showed her how people worldwide are fundamentally similar and what fueled her to pursue her higher degree in France. She also lived in Cyprus while she interned for the State Department, where she saw first-hand how communication breakdowns prolong cold conflicts. Cheryl believes in the power of dialogue and connection to help people have greater understanding and respect for each other which ultimately has a peace-building effect. In her free time she enjoys knitting, singing in community choir and playing games.
