Curry Mayer
| Curry Mayer has over 30 years of experience in emergency management and homeland security. Ms. Mayer is the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Seattle. Prior to working for Seattle, she served as the Emergency Manager for the City of Bellevue, WA. She came to Washington State after 20 years in California developing and supporting state and local emergency management programs. Her experience includes serving as the Emergency Management Advisor to Undersecretary at the CA Department of Food & Agriculture, as Director of Training & Exercises for the CA Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, and as a contractor for Booz-Allen & Hamilton working for the White House Military Office in Washington D.C. She is an adjunct professor in the Infrastructure Planning and Management and Urban Planning Master's degree programs at the University of Washington. Ms. Mayer has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from CA State University Long Beach and a Master’s degree in Education, with a focus on curriculum development. She co-authored a book on Emergency Management, "The New, the Novel, and the Nasty, Emergency Management After 2020." |
