Elizabeth Black
Elizabeth Black became Executive Director of One World Now! in 2025, bringing over 10 years of experience in global education, public service, and youth programming. A former U.S. diplomat, she served with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), leading education programs in Malawi, Liberia, Burma, and Yemen. Prior to her Foreign Service role, Elizabeth was a Blended Learning Specialist at Peace Corps, where she led the redesign of the agency’s global Teaching English as a Foreign Language training program and developed competency-based training used by Volunteers in over 60 countries.
She previously served as Senior Program Manager for Virtual Exchange at Global Ties U.S., designing exchange programs on topics like law enforcement reform in Mexico and youth mental health in the Middle East. Her work blended in-person and virtual programming to deepen global learning.
Elizabeth began her career as a classroom teacher in China, Memphis, and Washington, DC. She later co-founded Bee Bilingual, an online program expanding access to bilingual education for K–5 students. Elizabeth has studied or worked in Chile, China, Germany, Malawi, and Mexico. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.
