Elizabeth Donkervoort

Elizabeth Donkervoort is the Senior Advisor for China Programs at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. She is a democracy and human rights expert with extensive experience countering digital authoritarianism and transnational repression. Committed to strengthening democratic resilience worldwide, Elizabeth has over the course of her career led programs at the American Bar Association’s Center for Global Programs, the International Republican Institute, and Freedom House. She serves on the board of NüVoices, an editorial collective supporting underrepresented voices in China-focused work, and is a Fellow with the Montreal Institute for Global Security. She received her JD and a Master of Asia Pacific Policy Studies from the University of British Columbia.
