Freja Owen
Freja Owen grew up in Olympia, Washington, and now lives in Seattle while completing her degree in International Studies with a minor in Environmental Studies at the University of Washington. Her studies focus on the intersections of history, culture, and policy, with particular attention to how law and politics shape people’s everyday lives. She has also spent time studying in France, where she deepened her appreciation for history and the importance of cross-cultural understanding. At UW, Freja led a twelve-person Task Force that produced a full-length policy report on nuclear space politics and served as an editor for the Jackson School Academic Journal.
Freja plans to pursue law school and a career in public defense, where she hopes to bring both her compassion and her commitment to justice into practice. She thrives in spaces where people come together to share ideas, build community, and create change. In her free time, Freja enjoys spending time with her cat, Nyx, reading, writing, and playing games.
