John Simpson
John Simpson is the Director of the Professional Fellows Program for Economic Empowerment in the Middle East and North Africa, a U.S. State Department-funded initiative. Here, he supports young leaders from across the MENA region, including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and Lebanon. A former William J. Clinton Fellow for Service in India with the American India Foundation and former Senior Fellow at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh, John brings a wealth of international experience and expertise to the World Affairs Council. From 2019 to 2020, John supported adult and youth refugees and asylum-seekers at the International Rescue Committee in SeaTac. A Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies graduate at the University of Washington, John now serves as a member of the school's Civic Council. A Seattle native, John enjoys hiking, reading, and cycling.
