Julian Mydlil
Julian has been a program coordinator on the Global Leadership Exchange team at the World Affairs Council since October 2024, and he first joined the World Affairs Council as an intern in June 2024. Previously, Julian worked in political campaigns, where he gained extensive experience developing and managing strategies to engage the community, volunteers, and allied organizations for political campaigns from the local to federal levels. In large part due to his experiences in the political sphere and his travels to over a dozen countries in between campaigns, he was inspired to refocus his studies to international relations. He holds a B.S. in International Relations from Arizona State University, where he was a recipient of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean's Medal. Reflected in his coursework, research involvement, and community service work with refugees and immigrants at the International Rescue Committee and a local asylum-seeker legal clinic, Julian is particularly interested in international migration policy. He is a dual citizen of the United States and Czechia, and in his free time, he enjoys hiking in the great Pacific Northwest outdoors, tasting loose leaf teas (especially from Taiwan), and reading histories and memoirs.
