Julianna Patterson
I’m someone who cares deeply about helping people understand the world and their place in it. As Senior Program Officer for Global Classroom, I support educators and students by creating practical, engaging global learning opportunities; workshops, curricula, youth programs, and community partnerships that make global education accessible and relevant.
I’ve been with the World Affairs Council since 2018, beginning in the International Visitor Program (now Global Leadership Exchange) before joining the Global Classroom team in 2021. Throughout my time here, I’ve worked with teachers, students, families, international leaders, and local partners to build programs that strengthen global competence and nurture empathy, compassion, and meaningful action in the next generation and in our broader learning communities.
At my core, I believe that education, storytelling, and human connection can open minds and inspire people to act with intention for a better world; that belief is the north star that guides my work. Outside of work, I find energy in traveling, being outdoors, engaging with dance and the arts, and always finding new ways to learn, explore, and expand my worldview.
