Matt Butler
Matt Butler is a Social Studies teacher at Seattle Prep with 17 years of classroom experience and a deep commitment to global education. He believes that one of the most important goals of education is helping students broaden their perspectives, engage thoughtfully with the world, and understand their place within an increasingly interconnected global community.
After spending approximately two years living in Spain with his family, Matt recently returned to Seattle and is resuming a full-time classroom role following work in learning support services, private tutoring, and substitute teaching. His international experience reinforced his belief in the value of cultural exchange and global understanding.
Matt is particularly excited about helping shape a new Global Scholars program at Seattle Prep and hopes the fellowship will provide inspiration, ideas, and connections that support that work. Outside of school, he enjoys traveling, staying active, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
