Michael F. Davis
The son of a career naval officer, Captain Davis considers north Florida home. Enlisting in the Navy in 1988, he served on USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (SSN 708) and as an instructor at the Trident Training Facility in King’s Bay Georgia. In 1995, Davis was selected to the inaugural class of the Seaman to Admiral program and received his commission. His subsequent baccalaureate education was completed at Jacksonville University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with university honors.
As a Division Officer, he served as Communication’s Officer on USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG 34) and Administration, Training and Assistant Operations Officer on USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51). As a Department Head, Davis served as Operations Officer on USS O’Bannon (DD 987) and as Executive Officer on USS Devastator (MCM 6). Most recently, he served as Executive Officer on USS Rentz (FFG 46), fleeting up to command from 2011 to 2012.
He served ashore in the Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate on the staff of Commander, United States Strategic Command, on the staff of the Commander Fifth Fleet, as the plans liaison to United States Central Command. Prior to reporting as the Commanding Officer of Naval Station Everett, Davis served as the deputy Division Chief for Space and Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division on the staff of Commander, United States Pacific Command.
His personal decorations include numerous awards of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and other individual, unit and campaign awards.
