Nathan McCommon
Nathan McCommon serves as Deputy City Manager for the City of Bellevue since 2016. He provides direct oversight of many public-facing services such as parks and recreation, community services, public works, and public safety. Above all, he serves as a strategic advisor to the city manager and city council on any matter of public service and policy. For much of his professional career, McCommon has worked in local government, beginning in 1990 in Florida followed by three jurisdictions in Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish literature and Master of Public Administration at the University of Kansas. Both in his official capacity and personal interests for over three decades, McCommon has been hosting and touring visiting foreign dignitaries, assisting foreign exchange college students, and tutoring immigrants toward attaining citizenship. He is known for his extensive knowledge of cultures around the world and welcoming people in their local languages. He also enjoys time with family, domestic travel, musical performance, and volunteering.
