Omar Ashraf
Omar received a unique global upbringing, growing up in Paris, France, and New Delhi, India. This ignited his interest in an International Political Economy major at the University of Washington, where he is a junior working towards a B.A. in International Studies. He is a member of The Jack and Ann Rhodes Professional Sales Program and is completing a minor in Entrepreneurship. As a business enthusiast, Omar is also serving as Vice President in Project Management at Phi Chi Theta, a business fraternity at the University of Washington.
Omar's understanding of the various facets of global businesses was strengthened by internship roles in energy consulting, telecommunications, healthcare, marketing, financial services, and blockchain. These experiences also helped him co-found a wearable tech e-commerce startup while in high school. This opportunity provided him firsthand insight as an entrepreneur and went on to inspire a passion for creating a positive impact in his community.
Omar is eager to help his team at the World Affairs Council connect Seattle to the world. The importance of addressing global issues and engaging the Seattle community is vital, especially in an era where it is more relevant than ever.
