Rebecca Blankenship
Rebecca "Becky" Blankenship is a middle school Social Studies educator at McMurray Middle School and serves as lead teacher for the high school Global Leadership Program within Concordia Language Villages' Russian Program. Her work is driven by a commitment to helping students engage critically with global perspectives and understand diverse cultural experiences.
A two-time Fulbright recipient, Becky is an alumna of the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program and recently completed a Fulbright-Hays fellowship at the University of Ghana. Her research focused on pre-colonial educational practices in Accra and deepened her understanding of how historical and cultural contexts shape learning and educational systems.
Through her teaching, Becky integrates global perspectives, inquiry-based learning, and culturally responsive practices into secondary humanities curricula. She believes students benefit most when learning connects local experiences to larger global conversations and encourages thoughtful engagement with the world around them.
