Sadie Cook
Sadie is a current senior at Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences finishing out her high school career as a spring intern with the World Affairs Council. She has always been passionate about social justice, politics, and international affairs, and hopes to major in Political Science at Wesleyan University, where she will begin next fall. Throughout high school, she engaged in a variety of extra-curricular activities that strengthened her interest in civic engagement. She was the co-president of the Planned Parenthood Club, a group that works to foster reproductive awareness and enact more comprehensive sex-ed programs at SAAS. Additionally, she was involved in the March for Our Lives movement when it began in 2018 and had the opportunity to speak at the Seattle rally. Sadie was also a member of her school’s speech and debate team and Youth Legislature Club, both of which provided valuable skills for entering the adult world. Through these experiences and more, her enthusiasm has grown for getting involved with organizations that make tangible differences and unite people from all demographics. As such, she is excited to work at the World Affairs Council to learn more about non-profit work so relevant to today’s world.
