Selbi Orayeva
Selbi joins the World Affairs Council as a Global Leadership Exchange Intern. Originally from Turkmenistan, she is a Fulbright Foreign Student pursuing an M.Ed. in Education Policy, Leadership, and Organization at the University of Washington. With a background in teaching English as a Second Language and educational administration, she hopes to bring a passion for education and cross-cultural engagement to the Council’s mission.
Before moving to the United States, she spent a year in Germany and has lived, studied, and worked in diverse international settings. She speaks four languages (Turkmen, Russian, Turkish, and English) and is currently learning a fifth (German). As a member of the student government at UW, she is committed to fostering inclusive and globally-minded communities. Her experience as an educator continues to inspire a deep dedication to making a positive impact in people’s lives.
