Wadii Boughdir
Wadii Boughdir spent the last year working with the International Rescue Committee in Seattle where he worked on improving refugee youth programs and helped developing outreach and communication initiatives in the Greater Seattle area. Wadii, born and raised in Tunisia moved to Seattle in late 2015. Prior to his experience in the US, Wadii has worked on several social and non-profit initiatives in Tunisia. In 2011 and a few months after the revolution in Tunisia, Wadii worked on creating the first debating network in Tunisia and has helped expand this project in Libya after the fall of the Gadaffi regime. In 2012, he co-founded an educational non-profit to carry on the civic engagement work and reach other parts of the country. Subsequently, He has worked on an EU ecotourism initiative to promote alternative leisure to the mass coastal resorts and help shift tourists’ behaviors. Currently, Wadii is pursuing a master’s degree in Communication in Communities and Networks at the University of Washington.
