Wendy Ewbank
Wendy Ewbank is a founding faculty member at Seattle Girls' School, where she teaches seventh-grade Social Studies and eighth-grade Global Studies. In addition to teaching, she serves as a grade-level advisor, facilitates Student Council, and advises IMPUHWE, a student-led organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for girls around the world.
Under Wendy's mentorship, IMPUHWE connects students to global issues through fundraising, advocacy, international partnerships, and discussions focused on educational access and women's empowerment. The group's name comes from the Kinyarwanda word for compassion and reflects its mission to inspire and motivate powerful undiscovered women through education.
A lifelong learner, Wendy holds bachelor's degrees in film and dance from the University of Maryland and a master's degree in education from the University of Washington. She has participated in numerous international and national professional learning opportunities through organizations including the World Affairs Council, National Geographic, the National Institute of Peace, NEH, Street Law, Gilder Lehrman, and the James Madison Memorial Foundation.
Her passion for learning continues to inform her work helping students understand complex global issues and engage as thoughtful citizens.
