Zhaowen is a marketing manager at Gates Ventures, where she focuses on marketing research, analytics and strategy development in support of initiatives in global health & development, energy innovation, and education. Before that, she held research and analysis roles in both multinational brands and analyst firms to help companies understand digital media, telecom and video markets around the globe. Earlier in her career, she worked on journalism and international editorial development at France 24 (France's international TV channel) and the New York Times. Zhaowen grew up in China, and speaks Mandarin, English and some French. She received a Masters in Digital Communication from the University of Washington and a MA in international journalism from Beijing Foreign Studies University.
