Excellence in AI and Global Leadership Exchange (EAGLE)
This summer, the World Affairs Council will welcome students from Kosovo, the Republic of Korea, and the United States. The Excellence in AI and Leadership Exchange (EAGLE) Program is focused on equipping young leaders and educators with knowledge and skills in AI ethics, technology, and global leadership.
We are seeking 21 volunteer homestay hosts for the students and their mentors, to provide a 13-night stay from Monday, June 22 to Sunday, July 5.
About Homestay Hosting:
- This is a volunteer opportunity for families and individuals.
- We are required to follow the "rule of three" which asks that youth participants are in homestays with at least two other people (at least one person needs to be over 18). If you are a single adult individual, then two youth participants would need be housed with you.
- Hosts are required to provide participants with a private room with an individual bed, most meals, and some transportation to and from program activities.
- Hosts should live within a one-hour or less commute on public transit to downtown Seattle, or be willing to drive their guests.
- Interested hosts must complete all application requirements.
What the World Affairs Council will provide:
- We will provide logistical support, including helping to arrange pick-ups and drop-offs.
- We will share program details and updates with host families.
- Once matched, we will share the bios and other relevant information about the youth leader(s).
- Youth leaders will be covered under sickness and accident insurance.
- We provide weekday programming.
- We will serve as mediators between youth leaders and the host families to ensure a warm and successful experience for all involved.
- We will be on-call 24/7 during the dates of the program to respond to any emergencies.
